Design radiator connection step-by-step plan: Grey, horizontal design radiator

Step 1

Unplug the central heating boiler from the socket. Using a spirit level, mark out the spot where the wall brackets are to go. Straight? Then attach them to the wall. Then hang the radiator. Then adjust the brackets slightly. The side of the air vent nipple should hang 0.2 cm higher.

Step 2

Unscrew the tip of the foot valve and the valve body. Wrap a piece of Teflon tape around the threads of the point pieces. This way the connection will not leak. Now tighten the valve body and foot valve to the point pieces you just inserted. Then connect the radiator to the water pipe. You may need to bend or saw the pipe before it fits. We will explain how to do this in the next step.

Step 3

You can easily cut pipes to size with a pipe cutter. After cutting, the edge of the pipe has an uneven structure. These are also known as burrs. Use some sandpaper to remove these burrs. This way, no metal particles enter the pipe system. After deburring, clean the pipe by rinsing it with water.

Step 4

Connect the pipes with T-pieces. Use compression fittings to attach the pipes to the radiator. Use wall brackets to ensure the pipes are also fixed to the wall. Slide the pipe in theradiator valveconnection and tighten firmly with a spanner. Then you can connect the return pipe in the same way.

Step 5

Now plug the boiler plug back into the socket. Now top up the heating system. While topping it up, also bleed it regularly, just until the system is up to pressure. Finishing the radiator? Then place the rosettes on the underside of the pipes. Now your job is done!
