Our blog series Maxaro makeover features our customers. Nothing is more fun and inspiring than looking inside someone else's home! We recently spoke to Guus and Kim about their new bathroom. The couple recently moved into a newly built house. In order to design the bathroom according to their wishes, they opted for a turnkey delivery of this room. Are you curious? In our blog, you can read all about the search for a bathroom and discover the beautiful end result.

An energy-efficient new house

Guus and Kim wanted a house for the future and therefore chose an energy-efficient new-build. They are now increasingly aware of energy-saving options such as solar panels, underfloor heating and a heat pump. When filling in the new house, the most important thing was that the bathroom, kitchen and floor would be perfect. They waited about 1.5 years for the house, but in that time they definitely did not sit still. To realise the bathroom of their dreams, they engaged a contractor.

The search for a dream bathroom

The couple started by creating a mood board to see what they liked. "Most of all, we also knew what we didn't like," says Kim. Shiny items were one example of this, which is why they soon ended up with stylish, black taps.

"We put a lot of energy into the bathroom. We also visited many shops and had drawings made. Last but not least, we came to Maxaro. And then we thought: finally someone who understands us," says Kim. "We just went to different shops more with an open mind. We saw at one point that Maxaro was there with lots of different products. Then we thought let's try this one too."

To pick out a bathroom, they made an appointment with a salesperson on their second visit to Maxaro. "We were very pleased with the knowledge of the person who went with us then. He could tell us a lot of things," says Guus. "Who also said: above all, don't worry about the stuff you choose. I make sure everything is complete, from bath legs to siphons. I really liked that."

An ideal layout

On the layout, Guus and Kim quickly agreed. They could choose from three different shell bathroom layouts for the construction of their house. The pipes were already in a fixed place, so it was mainly a matter of fitting and measuring the products they liked. The Bathroom measures 2.60 m by 2.70 m. "We have a lot of space for such a large shower and there is also plenty of room between the Shower and Sink," Guus explains. "To the shower we had to look very carefully, because the toilet is next to it. When we saw a sliding door, we thought: this is very handy," adds Kim.

Guus and Kim's wish list

The couple wanted black taps. "Guus thinks the guarantee is very important on those taps and everywhere we went, they only have a 2-year guarantee on black taps, Maxaro gives a 5-year guarantee," indicates Kim. They also wanted a shower with black fixings and a bath was not to be missed either. "A bath for now and later is quite handy," says Guus. Another big wish was large tiles. "We had small bathroom tiles in the rented house, which we didn't like at all," says Guus. Their eye fell on the 90x90cm grey Piastrella tile and the 30x90cm matte white Blanco tile.

In showroom Roosendaal, they ended up combining them. "We eventually went to the bathroom unit and added the tiles there. We couldn't move a tap, so we just did it with the one that was there. We then imagined it was black," says Kim. "That didn't turn out so bad in the end. But that's how we kind of got the colours and the taste," Guus adds.

Showpieces in the bathroom

For Kim, the shower enclosure with the roller system and the alcove really stand out. "When I look at the photos on Instagram myself now, I think the mirror and the bathroom unit are bold. Then you see on the you in the background that grey tile. If you then move a bit further, you then see the tiled walls with the bath and shower. But anyway, then you start talking about the whole bathroom," Guus says proudly. In short, they are completely satisfied with the result and the bathroom completely fulfils their wishes.

The gold tip from Kim and Guus

The gold tip for when you are remodelling your bathroom? "Take your time, have a good look at what kind of stuff you like," Guus explains. "We have a newly built house, which we genuinely put a lot of time into to make sure it looks the way we want. With everything now, we are like: yes, now it really is how we had it in our heads. We ordered 3 months in advance. Only before that we were busy for more than six months," adds Kim.
