A clean shower cubicle is pleasing to the eye, but how do you keep it clean? Lime in particular is a 'creeping danger', slowly building up to the point where it can only be removed with difficulty. Furthermore, soap residues left behind are contaminants of the shower cabin. They accumulate and affect, for example, the sealant.
Shower cubicle cleaning: do it right
Lime is a creeping danger to your shower cabin. Want to know how to prevent it? In this blog we tell you all about how to clean and keep your shower cabin clean.

Shower enclosure glass walls are often coated with a special coating. This protects the glass so soap residues and limescale do not adhere easily. Yet it is also necessary to clean the glass walls regularly. And not with an aggressive product, as this will damage the protective layer. It is better to dry the shower screens with a squeegee after using the shower. This will not make it completely dry, but at least the drip layer will be gone. If you already suffer from stubborn limescale on the glass, it is best to remove it with (diluted) cleaning vinegar. There are plenty of synthetic detergents available for cleaning the bathroom. Yet 'old-fashioned' agents like vinegar and green soap are also perfectly usable. They are cheap and also do not harm the environment.
Clear glass, crystal-clear
Shower enclosures consist of glass walls and aluminium profiles. You also need to clean those profiles. Some cleaning agents can damage aluminium, plastics and light metals. They become matt, stained or the outer layer comes off. This is unfortunate, and usually beyond repair. It is advisable to always read the instructions on the packaging carefully. The best way to prevent limescale is to dry your showers, taps, tiles and/or bath after use. Lime then has little chance of adhering to the surfaces. Is theshower trayin your shower enclosure made of natural stone? Then lubricate it occasionally with natural stone oil or green soap. This prevents the stone from turning white due to moisture or residues from shampoo, soap or cleaning products.

Cleaning and maintaining the shower enclosure
Those who keep up with cleaning the shower enclosure have nothing to fear from limescale and dirt deposits. After every shower, just wipe the walls with a squeegee and a dry cloth over the tap and profiles. It is not a lot of work, more a question of discipline. If you accustom yourself to this, you will never have to scrub and your shower enclosure will stay like new. In the bathroom, ventilation is very important. The sooner the shower enclosure is dry, the less likely it is to get limescale. Therefore, leave the door of a closed shower enclosure ajar after showering to allow the moist air to escape from the shower enclosure.
