Spend hours dreaming away at the most beautiful and largest bathrooms on Pinterest. It often seems too good to be true, but with a smart bathroom layout, a lot is possible. That is why it is important to design the space as efficiently as possible. To help you do this, in this blog you will read all about the most common bathroom situations: narrow, square, small, large or with a sloping roof.

Narrow bathrooms

A narrow bathroom is on average 2 by 3 metres. A room of this size can usually accommodate a toilet, bathroom cabinet, shower and even a bathtub. The amount of walking space you have is determined by the size of the bathroom elements. Would you like both a bath and a shower? Then you will have room for an 80x80 cm shower cubicle or a 90x90 cm shower cubicle. Do you think the shower is more important than a bath? Then take a spacious walk-in shower, for example. The nice thing about a spacious layout is that it creates peace in the room. You also make the bathroom seem larger.

Square bathrooms

A small, square bathroom requires a smart layout. By installing a partition wall, you make the most of this space. Create a shower cubicle on one side and place a storage cabinet or built-in bath against the other. Keep in mind that the bathroom should be at least 2.7 m wide. This gives you room for an 80 cm wide shower cubicle, a 10 cm partition and a 180 cm built-in bath.

With a large, square bathroom, you have the great advantage of having more walking space in the middle than in a narrow bathroom. This is very pleasant if you live with several people in the house. This prevents a morning rush and allows you to use the space at the same time.

Bathroom with sloping roof

In bathrooms with a low, sloping roof, the layout often speaks for itself. The high side is ideal for installing a shower and bathroom unit. This is because on this side the space is high enough to stand on. To still make the most of the bathroom, place a bath or toilet under the sloping side.

Small bathrooms

More can fit in a small space than you think, it just takes some good puzzling. So look for clever solutions. Opt for a mirror cabinet, for example. This will give you extra storage space. To preserve more walking space, a quarter-round shower enclosure is the best choice. Or consider combining a shower and a bath. There are also shallow bathroom units, short projection toilets and space-saving concealed cisterns. For an open and spacious feel, choose only a walk-in shower, bathroom unit and possibly a toilet or bathroom cabinet.

Large bathrooms

A large bathroom is ideal. In it, you have enough space to make all your dreams come true. Choose, for example, a freestanding bath and a spacious walk-in shower. Or create your own spa with a luxury whirlpool, steam shower and large bathroom unit.

The ultimate bathroom dream is, of course, the ensuite bathroom. From your bedroom, you walk straight into your bathroom. Do you leave the space completely open? Or do you install a partition for extra privacy? In terms of layout, you usually have complete freedom. So first list all your wishes.
