A bathroom furniture set consists of the furniture and, depending on the version, a matching sink or sink top. A tap, siphon, drain plug, and mirror are not included: you choose those yourself and order them separately. On each product page, you can see exactly what is included in the box under "Standard included".
- Furniture or base cabinet: this is always the foundation of the set.
- Sink or sink top: this is included if you choose bathroom furniture with sink. If you choose furniture for a wash basin, you select the basin separately.
- Tap: not included, always to be chosen separately.
- Siphon and drain plug: not included, always to be chosen separately.
- Mirror or mirror cabinet: not included, always to be chosen separately.
- Fixing and assembly: this varies by product. Check the product page under "Standard included".
If you order everything at once, your order will also arrive at once. So you don't have to wait for individual parts to trickle in.
What exactly is a complete bathroom furniture?
A complete bathroom furniture is usually not a standalone cabinet, but a composed arrangement. You can best see it as three levels.
Loose bathroom furniture or under furniture. This is just the cabinet base. You can also order furniture without a sink or sink top, but then you do not have a ready-to-use sink space. For that, check the category bathroom furniture.
Bathroom furniture with sink. This is the first functional combination: base cabinet plus a matching sink. The furniture and sink must have exactly the same width, so this is not a matter of just choosing something to go with it.
Complete set or complete arrangement. Only here do you add the components that complete the whole: tap, siphon, drain plug, mirror or mirror cabinet, and possibly extra storage space. In the bathroom furniture configurator, you can assemble that complete furniture set all at once.
What is standard in a bathroom furniture set?
In a bathroom furniture set, the combination of base cabinet and matching sink forms the fixed basis. That is something different than a fully furnished arrangement with all accessories included.
If you choose an arrangement with a wash basin, note: Modulo furniture is supplied as standard without a wash basin. You select the basin separately, just like the sink top it sits on. For that, orient yourself on bathroom furniture for wash basin and sink tops.
The measurements make the difference here. A piece of furniture of 120 cm also requires a sink of 120 cm. Therefore, a piece of furniture with a sink feels much more complete than a standalone cabinet, but it is still not a fully equipped bathroom furniture set.
Which components do you buy separately?
The sink tap, siphon, and drain plug are never included as standard with a bathroom furniture or sink. You always choose those separately.
This is not without reason, as those components differ greatly in style and technique. The tap determines the appearance, while the siphon and drain plug must technically fit the chosen sink. They are also available in different colours, so you can match them to the tap. For that, check the category accessories for bathroom furniture.
A mirror or mirror cabinet is also never included with the furniture: you search for and order that separately. This also applies to complete bathroom furniture that already looks fully finished in the photo. The mirror in such a mood photo is part of the styling, not of the delivery.
Bathroom furniture with sink is often the best starting point
If you want to quickly move from loose choices to a usable set, start with a bathroom furniture with sink. This way, you first establish the combination that needs to fit, and then you fill in the rest.
First, determine the size and depth. A standard depth is 46 cm, while a shallow piece of furniture is about 39 cm deep. This makes shallow bathroom furniture handy in smaller spaces or narrow bathrooms.
Then look at width, version, and material. Modular furniture can be assembled in millions of combinations, with choices in sink, base cabinet, colour, and front design. You also compare variants with zero, one, or two tap holes: that number determines which tap fits. If you need two wash areas, then bathroom furniture with double sink is often a more logical starting point.
Which mirror fits a complete bathroom arrangement?
A loose mirror usually fits if you already have enough storage space. A mirror cabinet is more practical if you want extra storage and extra functions above the furniture, such as lighting, mirror heating, or a power outlet.
Choose the width of the mirror logically in relation to the width of the furniture: either the same width or just slightly narrower. With a wide piece of furniture, you can also split it, for example, two mirrors of 70 cm above a piece of furniture of 160 cm.
This is how you assemble a complete set yourself
The quickest way to see what is and isn’t included in your set is the bathroom furniture configurator. In it, you assemble a complete furniture set with furniture, tap, mirror, mirror cabinet, and possibly a side cabinet.
All the individual items from your composition remain visible during the design process as well as later in your shopping cart. This way, you can see at a glance whether you have added the drain plug, siphon, or the correct upper cabinet, and you prevent your bathroom furniture from seeming complete while a technical component is still missing.
Pay attention to accessories and assembly parts
Which assembly and connection parts are included varies by product. You can see that on the product page under "Standard included": it specifies exactly what is in the box. If you are unsure about the connection, also check the technical drawing for the product.
In the range of sink accessories, you will find, among other things, fixing sets, siphons, and drain plugs. Completeness is therefore not only about appearance but also about installation. A universal drain plug only fits if the measurements match the technical drawing of your sink.
Handy to know about a Modulo bathroom furniture: at the back of the drawers, there is a cutout of 7 cm for the siphon and drain pipes. This means you lose less drawer space than you would expect.
Checklist before you order
Check these points, and you can be sure that your set is complete:
- Furniture: is the width, depth, and version correct?
- Sink, sink top, or wash basin: has this component been added and is it exactly matching in width?
- Tap: does the tap match the number of tap holes in your sink?
- Mirror or mirror cabinet: does the width and function match your furniture?
- Siphon: is this included in your composition?
- Drain plug: small component, easily forgotten, but necessary.
- Fixing and assembly: checked under "Standard included" on the product page?
If you want to do that final check in one overview, assemble your set in the bathroom furniture configurator. There you can see which components are actually in your composition, so you can order everything you need in one go.
